The Old Testament Teacher noted: “There is a time for everything” (Eccl. 3:1 – NIV). I’m so glad that the Lord has given us time to enjoy fellowship in Calvary’s family.
Calvary Church of the Nazarene has a great heritage. In 1926, a group of people organized a new congregation in Roseland for the purpose of helping families come to know the Lord Jesus Christ in a rich and meaningful way. Several years later, the congregation moved to Emerald Avenue, and in 1970 relocated again to Crestwood as godly pastors and lay people alike shared a vision of proclaiming the Biblical message of holiness to our community. September 30 and October 1, 2006, we celebrated our 80 year history.
Our church also has a great hope. Through all these years the purpose of the church has remained the same – to help people experience a personal and meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ and to enjoy harmonious fellowship with other people who also share faith in Him. Our congregation has become like a large family that takes time for many things together: worshipping, sharing, teaching, ministering, and caring.
In these days of moral confusion and social unrest, we hope and pray for opportunities to help seeking people find real peace with God.
